Dr Azad Camyab – Founder & Director

Azad Camyab is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company. For over 25 years Azad held senior business development and project management roles in the energy sector.

He started his career with CEGB and National Power and was later “Head of Business Development – Europe” for EDL (Energy Developments Limited), and Projects Director and Business Development Director for Sithe Energy and Aquila Energy, and, Director of Green Energies at KEMA.

Azad is currently an Associate on the Masters course in Sustainability Leadership, and, Construction Engineering & Management at the University of Cambridge. He is also a Visiting Professor at the London Metropolitan Business School.

Azad is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (FIET), a member of the Executive Advisory Board of Renewable Energy World Europe (Power-Gen Europe), and Fellow of the Leeds Sustainability Institute (LSi @ Leeds Beckett University) Advisory Board.

Peter Pollak – CFO & Director

Peter Pollak is the Finance Director of the company. He has been involved with the financing of utility and infrastructure assets since leaving full time education.

Peter has worked on various aspects of funding in the telecom, water and power generation sectors. After working on the privatisation of the UK regional electricity companies, along with two other colleagues he co-founded Babcock & Brown, a European project finance advisory boutique.

He was involved in the financing of a number of the original gas fired CCGT’s in the UK during the early 1990’s. He continued to finance both renewable and gas fired generating power plants throughout the 1990’s.  Since 2001 working though his independent consultancy business, Peter has worked for a number of private equity funds predominantly in Europe.

John Scott – Senior Advisor

John is currently an independent consultant with 40 years experience covering electricity distribution, transmission and regulation. His previous roles include Director of Engineering for National Grid, Technical Director for Ofgem, and Director Network Innovation for KEMA Consulting.

He takes a particular interest in innovation and sustainable energy systems, and factors critical to successful deployment of innovation on power systems. He is a founder member of the government’s Smart Grid Forum and undertakes a number of advisory roles including being a Non Executive Director for Smarter Grid Solutions Ltd.

He is an active Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology and is a member of the Energy Policy Panel, the Energy Sector committee, and the Lectures Committee. He has in the past served as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Bernard Kaufhold – Senior Advisor

Bernard is a senior advisor to the company. He has spent over 25 years in the European and CIS energy sectors as a corporate financier, sector strategist and developer.

A former investment banker with Barclays de Zoete Wedd (BZW), SBC Warburg and Europa Partners he has advised on numerous transactions including M&A, divestments, restructuring,equity and debt capital raising. During his career he has also held senior roles as a principal with energy merchants and developers leading greenfield power plant, natural gas infrastructure and sustainable energy developments.

Bernard brings substantial insight and experience in corporate development, governance, risk management and capital raising.

Peter Weston – Senior Advisor

Peter has over 20 years experience working in the power and sustainable energy sector as an investor, lender and strategic advisor. He was global head of finance and investment for the wind turbine business of Siemens and the power plant group at MAN.

A former banker, he led the energy structured finance division of GE Capital in Europe and was an executive director for WestLB’s energy group. He was business development manager at Aquila Energy Trading and established the European energy consulting arm of Osaka Gas. He was also a journalist for Euromoney and the Financial Times.

Peter is currently a non executive director for Triodos Renewables, a community-oriented investor in renewable projects. He is also a trustee of Renewable World, a sustainable energy and water charity.
