He began his career with CEGB and International Power, developing and constructing a number of power plants in the UK, as well as managing several Independent Power Producer projects globally. Azad’s focus over the past 15 years has been in developing and financing low carbon and renewable projects.
Azad is a Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge for Sustainability Leadership & Industrial Manufacturing, a Fellow at the Energy Institute and the Institute of Engineering & Technology.
He has a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London and an Executive MBA from Bristol Business School.

A former Investment Banker with Barclays de Zoete Wedd (BZW), SBC Warburg and Europa Partners Bernard has advised on numerous transactions including M&A, divestments, restructuring, equity & debt capital raising.
He has also held senior roles as a Principal with energy merchants and developers leading multi-disciplinary teams in complex, high tech power plant and sustainable energy developments.
Bernard brings substantial entrepreneurial and commercial experience along with financial discipline, an appreciation of risk and good governance.
He has a BSc in Mathematics from the University of NSW and an MBA from the University of Bath.

He started his career running a Fintech start-up company where he managed several projects in Brazil dealing with large exchanges. He then moved to London where he has been working in the electricity industry for about 6 years doing business analysis and managing projects.
He has a BSc in Industrial Design from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, an MBA in Finance from IBMEC, and an MSc Investment and Finance from Queen Mary University of London.
